San Leonardo
The San Leonardo winery, located in a historic residence of the Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga, traces its roots to an ancient monastery founded over a thousand years ago. For three centuries, this 300-hectare estate, with 30 hectares dedicated to organic vineyards, has been passionately maintained by the Marchesi. Protected by the majestic Trentino mountains, which mitigate the harsh northern winds and favor the temperate breezes from Lake Garda, San Leonardo is an ideal place for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot. These grapes are destined for the production of the prestigious San Leonardo wine, the estate's flagship, and Terre di San Leonardo, a second wine characterized by great freshness and harmony. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet, and Carmenère also creates the elegant Villa Gresti, while the oldest vines produce a pure Carmenère, a wine of great identity. San Leonardo is a place where traditional, artisanal cellar practices allow for the creation of true gems of Italian enology. The estate's wines stand out for their freshness, harmony, and innate elegance, best representing the ancient world of San Leonardo.
