Description
The Ca' Marcanda Winery, located in the upper Maremma in Tuscany at Castagneto Carducci, presents a prestigious Bolgheri D.O.P. wine, achieved through the harmonious union of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards grow on soils rich in limestone, compact clay, and stones, crucial for cultivation. Winemaking involves separate fermentation and maceration of the two varieties for around 15 days, followed by an aging of 18 months in wood and an additional 12 months in the bottle before marketing. The wine's characteristics are enhanced by the soil composition, offering a robust structure and aromatic complexity that blend floral and fruity notes with a pronounced mineral imprint. The inaugural vintage of this wine, produced in 2000, established a solid quality standard, consistently maintained through subsequent vintages.
