Ca Marcanda

Ca’ Marcanda is a hidden gem in the heart of Bolgheri, a world-renowned wine region in Tuscany. Founded in 1996 by the Gaja family, the winery spans 80 hectares of vineyards, unique for their composition of white and brown lands. The white lands, rich in limestone, give complexity and depth to the wines, while the brown lands, composed of clay and silt, produce wines with a greater expression of fruit and concentration. The winery is a tribute to the harmony between man and nature, with an underground and invisible structure, built with the rocks found during the excavations and covered by the native vegetation, including 350 centuries-old olive trees. This respect for the environment is also reflected in the label of the Ca'Marcanda wines, which represents in a stylized way the crossed perspective of the cypresses with the horizon, a tribute to the symbolic avenue of Bolgheri.
