Rocca di Frassinello

Rocca di Frassinello is the result of a joint venture between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite. The project was born to create excellent wines in the heart of Maremma, between Bolgheri and Scansano. The vineyards have the same characteristics as those of the two most famous wine regions in Tuscany, Chianti and Montalcino, but with a substantial difference: an average temperature that is 4-6°C higher. The goal of Rocca di Frassinello is to create intense, elegant, and high-quality red wines, taking inspiration from the experience of the two wineries with illustrious wine-making traditions. Castellare's experience in cultivating and vinifying the Tuscan Sangioveto grape variety is combined with Lafite's experience with classic French grape varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Shiraz. The project has been embellished by the contribution of the prestigious architect Renzo Piano.
